KELOWNA, BC, July 4, 2023 – First Truck Centre announced today it has submitted an application for permit to build, which will relocate its Kelowna branch to a proposed new location near the Kelowna International Airport.  The new branch will include 19 service bays, including a Hydrogen efficient repair bay and wash bay.  The new 41,000 sq feet of space will include a customer focused show room and environmentally aware features.

The decision to transition to a new location was accelerated over the past year with the push for net zero initiatives in the transportation industry. First Truck Centre strives to become a leading service provider for clean initiatives and the new service bays will support customers as they grow their fleets to these technologies.

“With the branch being in close proximity to the Kelowna airport, we can support highway traffic from all directions, including the Kelowna Airport, which will become an international hub for commuters,” said Rod Graham, President and CEO of First Truck Centre. “As we support the net zero initiatives in alternative fuels, First Truck Centre will provide the sales, service and support that our industry and customers require.”

“We’re proud to call Kelowna home and look forward to many more years of success and collaboration with other local businesses.” Said Curtis Godfrey, General Manger, First Truck Centre BC South. “The move from West Kelowna will support drivers as they pass through the region, as well as those who are local to Kelowna.”

What makes this building location unique is how close it is to the airport and its ability to support Hydrogen technology.  With the entrance just off the major highway in Kelowna, it’ll be able to support our local community.  With the support of RE Optimize, we will be able to place a state-of-the-art facility on a piece of land that will benefit the transportation community.

“We are thrilled to partner with First Truck Centre,” said David Lopatka, President and CEO of RE Optimize.  “Their reputation for quality, excellence, and commitment to sustainability enhances Kelowna and the airport community. First Truck’s commitment to setting ambitious goals and taking action to create a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous future for everyone is inspiring.”
