Western Star 6900 Distinguishing Features

image2The Western Star 6900 has outboard cab mounts placed as wide as possible maximizes lateral Stability ensuring your Western Star has the most comfortable ride over Rough terrain and reduces body roll in turns.

The Western Star 6900 has the largest door openings in its class, which makes this truck the easiest to get in and out of.  Some may think that this isn’t worth mentioning…until they’re dressed for -30 and have to squeeze through one of our competitors door openings.

The Western Star 6900 employs a wiring raceway. Were we put our Body builder interface connector and transmission control unit in the cab and out of the dirt and slush. We factory install a bolt in pass-through plate in the cab to eliminate unnecessary drilling, and a dedicated floor channel with easy to remove top providing plenty of room to run auxiliary wiring.

image5The Western Star 6900 employs nodal engine mounting.  What this means is our power units are mounted on clutch housing instead of fly wheel housing.  This supports the unit closer to the output shaft of the transmission reducing the torque for less frame flex and an improved ride and of course ensures your Western Star 4700 has the longevity to maximize your investment.

image6The Western Star 6900 employs threaded spring pins. Greasable threads prevent spring from moving side to side within the shackle. Our exclusive design threads the pins directly into the spring bushing providing much more stability for an improved feel and overall handling.
